RIDGEWAY ROAD
Planning permission was secured to triple the footprint of the original house. Taking advantage of the site levels, a sunken, double-height kitchen and dining hall was created, framed by three arched glazed doors that open the space to the garden. Above, the original roof was completely removed and replaced with a new, taller mansard structure that unifies the extended footprint. This reimagined roofline allowed for the addition of two light-filled bedrooms within a new second floor, while the first floor was expanded to provide two further bedrooms and a landing picture window, framing views of the rolling hills. A full architectural makeover of the house unifies the old and new, with external insulation enhancing energy performance and improving the home’s long-term sustainability.
